Which elements of the TAC’s “bloody idiot” campaign do you think would be transferable to other efforts to change undesirable health behaviors?Which components of the campaign do you believe were the most successful in altering community attitudes and behaviors?If you were planning a social marketing campaign but had a more limited budget than the TAC, which elements would you decrease reliance on?

Reform vs Revolution. Some social movements seek change through reform, working within or with allies within the government or existing systems in order to effect change. Others seek to dismantle the system entirely. Drawing from Crimes Against Nature, Trans Kids, and Black Against Empire, describe how some social movements seem to find acceptance within the system through reform of its structure or policies, while others advocate for a full revolution that requires dismantling the system entirely in order to effect their desired change.

Although they are all considered social contract theorists, Hobbes, Locke, and Rousseau had very different ideas of what form that social contract should take, and not all supported democracy as the best style of government.

In a House of Commons Speech (November 11, 1947), Winston Churchill said, “Democracy is the worst form of government, except for all those other forms that have been tried from time to time.”

Given Churchill’s comment, and the works of the social contract theorists, is Democracy the best form of government today?
