Filippo Marinetti’s Futurist Manifesto

Discuss Marinetti’s “Manifesto” (146-150 in Art in Theory) and the artworks made in accordance with its philosophy in relation to the idea of the avant-garde by responding to the following questions:

1. How are the ideals, theories, and values of avant-garde art reflected in Marinetti’s language, imagery, and proposed courses of action?
2. How did Futurist artists translate Marinetti’s manifesto visually into painting and sculpture?
