When curriculum writers are provided the “what” or content to teach, readiness skills and knowledge, pacing, and addressed standards, they can align learning objectives, instruction, and assessment to write curriculum that is focused on student learning outcomes. They do this by creating a curriculum guide to share with district administration and eventually the teachers.

For this assignment, expand your pacing guide from Topic 2 to include a one semester (18-week) curriculum map. Add the following to your pacing guide:

• Daily learning objective from aligned district and state standards.
• Essential questions for each unit.
• Description of unit activities – One activity for each unit should be inquiry-based. Include at least one suggestion for technology integration where appropriate.
• Description of assessments – At least one weekly summative, daily formative (minimum of 12 different types), and one authentic assessment per unit for the 18-weeks. Include at least one suggestion for technology integration where appropriate.
