INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Research your state laws concerning financial exploitation and physical abuse of elderly individuals.
2. In a two-to-three page paper discuss the following:
   1. Describe the four common financial “scams” and how they can be avoided.
   2. Identify the four common signs of abuse.
   3. Identify the signs of self-neglect.
   4. What civil remedies are available for financial exploitation and for physical abuse?
   5. What laws and resources does your state have concerning reporting of abuse? Provide correct citations.

Find and read the case Camera v. Municipal Court, 387 U.S. 523 (1967).Find and read the case Skinner v. Railway Labor Executive Ass’n, 489 U.S. 602 (1989).Find and read the case Vernonia School District v. Acton, 515 U.S. 646 (1995).Create a chart that compares and contrasts the cases using as many headings for your chart as you need. 

Example headings: Plaintiff (what classification does the plaintiff fall into–child, employee, etc.), Level of Regulation, Expectation of Privacy, 4th Amendment Issues, Findings.
