Written Assignment: In the written assignment the student will be accomplishing two things. First, the student will define what is a law and how is a law made at either the local, state, or federal level. This part of the paper should be at least two pages length and should clearly lay out the process that is required for a law to be proposed, voted on, and enacted. The politician that you interview should be a key source of information for you as you are working on this section of your project. The second part of the assignment is to prepare a written summary at least two pages in length of your interview with the politician of your choice. Each student will interview either a local, state or federal politician and what they personally do when they are trying to pass a law. The politician needs to give you an example of a law they sponsored that was passed into law. All statements or information presented about the topic should be referenced. The works cited should support the interests identified in the paper’s introduction. All key terms should be clearly defined, all major points should be illustrated with examples.
Conclusion: In this section of the paper the student will present conclusions about the topic of making a law based on the research presented and what you learned from your interview with the politician. The conclusion should be at least 1 page in length. The primary purpose of this section is to allow the students to summarize the
