Many Americans do not have enough money to buy nutritional foods. Your project is to make a 1 week meal plan with a grocery list for a low income family of four. This family has a father, mother, son age 10, and daughter age 8. They are in the SNAP program and receive a benefit of $560.00 per month for food.
You will create a 1 week (7 days) meal plan that includes breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks, and snacks. You will have a grocery list (with the prices of the food) that must be followed in order to stay on budget. This growing family needs to eat nutritious foods. Look at the carbohydrates, fats, proteins, vitamins, and minerals for the foods you choose. Are they balanced?
Here is a little help: 1) Your pantry is supplied with flour, sugar, salt, pepper, baking powder, baking soda, vegetable oil, coffee, and tea.
2) The children are in school.
3) Start this project early, it will take time to gather the information, shop at the store, and put the information together.
Question 2
Write a 1-page paper describing the topic you propose for your dissertation, and the problem you plan to address.
Topic: “Folic Acid intake amongst pregnancy women in underserved area in the United States”.
