Select an e-commerce company. Visit the company website or mobile app. In your paper, describe the following features:

  • the business model based on the information you find on the website or the app,
  • a brief overview of the company,
  • the customer value proposition,

  • who its main competitors are,
  • any comparative advantages you believe the company possesses,
  • what its market strategy appears to be, and
  • information about the company’s management team and organizational structure. (Most company websites contain an “About Us” web page that contains information about the company.)

You must use a minimum of one source other than your textbook, which can include the company website or mobile app. All sources used, including the textbook, must be referenced; paraphrased and quoted material must have accompanying citations.

E-commerce marketing and advertising has evolved to the point where there are a variety of advertising channels that a marketer can use to reach a target market. Search engine, display ad, social media and local marketing are some of the ways that advertisers are utilizing the Internet to reach potential customers. Please answer the following questions:

  • What are some of the advantages of using display ad marketing, search engine advertising, social media advertising and direct email marketing?
  • In your opinion, are the advertisements that show up when you do a keyword search on Google or watch a video on YouTube effective? Are the advertisements that are promoted on Facebook and Twitter effective? Are the local advertisements that show up on your cell phone effective? Why or why not?
