4. Answer the following questions:
- After watching the Tedtalk: How America’s Public Schools keep kids in poverty (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. discuss at least two of the court cases that has helped reverse the 1954 Supreme Court Decision: Brown v. The Board of Education. You will need to pause the video and write down the court cases and look them up one by one.
- How do you feel knowing that segregation still exists in America despite Brown vs. he Board of Education?
- What was the most difficult part for you of the podcast, This American Life: The Problem We All Live With, Part 1 for you and discuss why?
- Are you comfortable knowing that some children will be graduating without an adequate education? Why or why not? Discuss your emotions.
- What do you think the future of these children from these poor, low quality schools, looks like and why?
- Describe what a successful classroom should look like. Then discuss how we as a society can do to make that happen.
