You have been learning how to select material, critically evaluate sources and synthesis. This is a summative assessment which tests these skills. You are expected to produce a limited literature review of approximately 1000 words in response to a particular research focus.
Learning outcomes to be assessed:
1. Demonstrate the skill of evaluation and critical synopsis, responding to texts in the context of other information and sources.
2. Understand and demonstrate what itmeans to be an active, purposeful and critical reader.
3. Produce a limited literature review in response to a particular literature review task.
Task information:
Research focus: The role of gender-neutral toys in China.
Aim: To investigate if it is feasible to introduce more gender-neutral toys in China.
Review task: Choose and discuss important factors that would enable or hinder the expansion of toys aimed at boys AND girls generally.
(Possible issues include: economic conditions, business considerations, gender expectations, consumer preference – but do NOT try to cover allissues in your limited review).
To complete the review task you must create part of a literature review using 3 academic articles reporting on primary research studies conducted within the last 10 years.You have been given two and need to find a third article.
