You are responsible for delegating duties to your team for the selection, development, and management of both the new and current employees. You must ensure that your organization is diverse and follows all employment laws.

(Note: You may create and / or make all necessary assumptions needed for the completion of these assignments. In your original work, you may use aspects of existing processes from either your current or a former place of employment. However, you must remove any and all identifying information that would enable someone to discern the organization[s] that you have used.)

Write a three to four (3-4) page paper in which you:

  1. Outline one (1) job interview process, and document the methods that you must use to select the right person for available positions. Determine two (2) employment laws that you must consider in the process in question, and examine the key ramifications of the organization’s lack of enforcement of said laws.
  2. Suppose your same organization decides on an unconventional workforce comprised primarily of independent contractors and temporary workers. Predict three (3) issues that you may encounter in building relationships with each type of worker. Next, examine two (2) laws that you must follow during the relationship building process, and specify the manner in which each law would help in the relationship building process.
  3. Evaluate the effectiveness of the organization’s HR policies and processes that are designed to promote a diverse workforce. Next, outline one (1) strategy for the organization that recognizes affirmative action. Include a plan to mitigate both the glass ceiling effect and reverse discrimination within your organization. Support your response with at least two (2) examples that illustrate the major benefits of the plan to the organization.
  4. Use at least three (3) quality academic resources in this assignment. Note: Wikipedia and other Websites do not qualify as academic resources.

Social Imagination and Homelessness

We will learn about many social problems during this course. Some  problems are very complex and are typically the result of both  individual and social issues. Developing your sociological imagination  requires that you see a social problem from many perspectives.

For this discussion, watch the video, Homelessness is a Symptom (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site.,  which covers the complexity of the problem of homelessness, costs of  the problem to individuals and society, and the challenges associated  with doing something about the problem.  Also, read The Sociological Imagination and Personal Crises (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. and look at the slide presentation Applying the Sociological Imagination to Homelessness (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. to address the questions below.

  1. In what ways might homelessness be categorized as a social problem?   Explain your reasoning and support your points with examples from the  textbook.
  2. Some of the policies suggested in the video involve government  policies and funds to address homelessness. Suggest at least one other  way that policies and/or programs to address homelessness can be funded.   How do you define what is appropriate use of public funds and how does  the use of public funds fit inside or outside of appropriate use?  The  policies described in this the video may be controversial. What concerns  do you have about these policies?
  3. The sociological imagination asks you to look at what may seem like  personal problems as social problems that are experienced widely by  groups of people.  Using your sociological imagination, describe the  ways in which homeless is a social problem.  Which groups are  disproportionately impacted by the social problem?
  4. Complete a web search focusing on policies intended to reduce or  eliminate homelessness. Provide an example of a potentially effective  response to the problem of homelessness. Define the elements that make  this solution effective.

Support  your claims with examples from required material(s) and/or other  scholarly resources, and properly cite any references.

Juvenile Delinquency

Question A

A wide variety of theories have been created that attempt to explain the  root causes of juvenile delinquency. The theoretical premises of these  theories range from attributing delinquent behavior to personal  characteristics of the individual youth to a variety of societal  influences and factors.
Compose an essay of 500 – 700 words where you identify the  criminological theory that you believe best explains juvenile  delinquency. Provide a brief explanation of the basic tenets of the  theory you have selected and then explain why you believe it best  describes a young persons decision to commit delinquent acts.
Directly quoted material may be used, but will not count towards the  minimum word count. Be sure to support your response with cited  scholarly resources as required by APA. A minimum of three (3) resources needed

Question B

The history of the United States juvenile justice system can be traced  back to the colonial period in the 1600’s. However, many of the  components we see in the current juvenile justice system were based upon  changes since the mid 1800’s.

Compose an essay of 500 – 700 words that describes how the current  juvenile justice system has evolved over the past 200 years. As part of  your essay, highlight key turning points that you believe were  instrumental in forming the juvenile justice system we have today.

Directly quoted material may be used, but will not count towards the  minimum word count. Be sure to support your response with cited  scholarly resources as required by APA. A minimum of three (3) resources needed

Annotated Bibliography On Multi-Generational Families

An APA formatted Annotated Bibliography of at least 6 peer-reviewed, evidence-based academic journal articles. This assignment requires a properly formatted title page, an abstract page and a Reference citation for each article followed by a brief summary (or “annotation”) of what the article is about.  An annotated bibliography is more than just a list of articles; that is what would go on Reference List.  Instead each article listing in an annotated bibliography must be followed by a 2 to 3 paragraph summary of the article’s contents (i.e., what the research questions were, who the study participants were, what data was collected and in what format it was collected in (e.g., surveys or interviews), what was found in the study and what limitations of the study were highlighted by the authors.) Remember you are writing succinct, short synopses of each article since the term “Annotated” means that each source listed must include directly below its reference information the description of what the source covers.  After each source description, please conclude with a  short statement (2 to 3 paragraphs long) of how the respective source is related to one or more of your other sources and how they link to your overall topic.  Merely copying the article’s abstract and submitting it as an annotation is  prohibited, and will result in a zero score. Also quoting isn’t needed or accepted for this assignment either. Instead summarize the aforementioned information in your own words.   This assignment must be completed per the course general writing standards, in APA format and show evidence of meaning making after engagement with the articles.  It requires a title page and abstract. Your paper should be at least 5 pages. You will  NOT include a reference page. You will have included full reference information above each annotation entry as provided for you in the week 2 lesson sample. The title page and abstract do not count in the 5 page minimum length, but if you include all of the required information, each of your annotation entries will be about 3/4ths of a page since:You will have the reference information double spaced above each annotation in proper APA format      You will then have the  single spaced annotations of 2 to 3 paragraphs containing the required information below each reference      And then you will have a one paragraph statement of each articles relevance to each other and to your overall topic at the end of the annotation.
